The Community Organization for Rights and Empowerment (CORE) sponsored its annual parade in memory of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday, February 28, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Nearly a hundred people walked or rode on floats and in cars and trucks during this event that recognized the late civil rights leader who championed nonviolent protest. The parade's grand marshal was CORE's Executive Director, Virginia Townsend.
